Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: June 15, 2026
In plain terms: some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, I may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. That commission helps cover the cost of running the site and keeps the trip reports free to read.
How it works
I participate in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates program and the AvantLink network, which connects me with outdoor brands and retailers. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, the retailer pays me a percentage of the sale. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use my link or not.
As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
What I recommend
I only write about gear I have actually used in the field. A link being an affiliate link does not change my opinion of the product, and I am never paid to give a positive review. When something broke, underperformed, or was simply a cheap option that got the job done, I say so. The recommendations reflect my honest experience on real objectives.
Where you will see these links
Affiliate links appear mainly on the gear pages and sometimes within trip reports, next to the gear I carried. Outbound affiliate links are marked appropriately for search engines, and you will find a short disclosure near gear listings as well as this page.
